What cookies are and why we use them
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They let the site recognise your browser on later pages and on later visits, so that you are not asked to repeat the same actions. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and local storage, work in much the same way, and in this policy we refer to all of them as cookies.
We use cookies for four broad purposes: to make the site work, to understand how it is used, to remember your preferences, and to measure the marketing we pay for. Some cookies last only until you close your browser; others stay on your device for a set period, as shown in the cookie notice on the site.
Cookies set by us are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by the companies that help us run parts of the site, such as hosting, payment processing, fraud prevention and analytics, are called third-party cookies. We ask those providers to use the information only for the purposes we have agreed with them.
The types of cookies we use
The cookie notice groups cookies into the four categories below. You can accept or decline each category, with the exception of strictly necessary cookies, which the site cannot run without.
Strictly necessary
These cookies are needed for the site to function and for your account to stay secure. Without them, pages such as the login screen and the cashier will not work.
- keeping you signed in as you move between pages, and signing you out after a period of inactivity
- holding the details of a deposit or withdrawal while it is being completed
- protecting the site against fraud and automated attacks, and supporting the account and age checks we carry out as the holder of a gaming licence
- remembering that you have already seen the age confirmation and the cookie notice
Performance and analytics
These cookies tell us how the site is used, in aggregate, so that we can find faults and improve it.
- counting visits to each page and measuring how long pages take to load
- showing where people stop during registration or at the cashier, so we can look at the steps that cause difficulty
- recording error messages so that our technical team can trace a fault
Functionality
- remembering your language, currency and display preferences
- keeping your sound, animation and layout choices between sessions
- remembering that you have dismissed a message or finished a step, so it is not shown to you again
Marketing
These cookies measure our advertising and limit how often you see it. Some are set by advertising and affiliate partners through our site.
- recording that you arrived from a particular advert or partner, so that it can be credited correctly
- limiting the number of times the same advert is shown to you
- measuring which campaigns lead to registrations, so that we do not keep paying for advertising that does not work
| Category | What it is used for | Can you switch it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Login, security, payments, age and account checks | No - the site cannot run without them |
| Performance and analytics | Usage figures, load times and error reports | Yes, in the cookie notice |
| Functionality | Language, currency, sound and layout preferences | Yes, in the cookie notice |
| Marketing | Advert measurement, partner credit and frequency capping | Yes, in the cookie notice |
Self-exclusion and marketing
We do not direct marketing at anyone who has self-excluded through our own tools or through GamStop, and we do not use marketing cookies to target people who have asked us to stop contacting them.
How to manage cookies
You can change your choices at any time, either on our site or in your browser.
In the cookie notice on the site
When you first visit, the cookie notice asks which categories you accept. You can accept all of them, decline everything other than the strictly necessary cookies, or choose category by category. The same notice can be reopened from the cookie settings control in the footer of every page, and your new choice applies from the moment you save it.
In your browser
Every mainstream browser lets you block or delete cookies, either for all sites or for particular ones. The controls sit in the settings or preferences menu, usually under privacy. Browsers also offer private windows, which clear cookies when the window is closed, and mobile devices have similar controls in their own settings.
- Open the settings or preferences menu in your browser.
- Find the privacy, security or site data section.
- Choose whether to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or clear the cookies already stored.
- Save the change and reload the site so that it takes effect.
Deleting cookies also deletes the record of the choices you have made here, so the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit.
What happens if you block cookies
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off in the cookie notice, because we cannot keep your session secure without them. If you block them in your browser, you should expect the following.
- you may be unable to log in, or you may be signed out as soon as you open another page
- deposits and withdrawals may fail part-way through, and the cashier may not show the limits held on your account
- games may not load, or may not keep your settings and progress
- the age confirmation and the cookie notice will appear on every visit
Blocking the other three categories has a milder effect. The site will still work, but it will not remember your preferences, we will have less information with which to trace faults, and the advertising you see elsewhere will be less relevant rather than absent.
Cookies, your account and safer gambling
The safer gambling tools we offer do not depend on cookies. Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are applied to your account rather than to your browser, so they continue to apply if you clear your cookies, change device or use a private window.
Our site is for adults aged 18 or over, and we verify the identity and age of every account holder. If you are worried about your gambling, free and confidential support is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline, and GamStop allows you to block yourself from licensed online gambling sites in Great Britain.
Setting your limits
Deposit limits and time-outs can be set in the safer gambling section of your account. A request to lower a limit takes effect straight away; an increase is subject to the cooling-off period shown in your account.
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when the law or our own processes change. The version published here is always the current one, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top of the page.
If you have a question about this policy, want to know more about a particular cookie, or would like help changing your settings, write to us at support@casinopure.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Our agents can go through your cookie choices with you and explain what each category is used for.
